SAY NO TO PLASTICS

The yearly sales of bottled water officially crosses soft drinks every year.

The world had awakened to the burgeoning crisis of plastic waste back in 2016 when the glut of discarded bottles clogged waterways, polluting oceans, harming the environment a great deal.

Not long ago, the Australian town of Bundanoon became the first community in the world to ban the sale of plastic water bottles. The decision was taken by the residents themselves as a measure to prevent ecological harm that would be caused due to building of a bottled-water plant nearby.

Bottled water produces about a million tonnes of plastics waste every year. Make an attempt to lessen the environmental impact of clean drinking water, today.

A normal Kiwi family consumes bottled water worth $25 on an average every week.

The amount spent not only causes harm to the environment but also consumes lot of time, cost and effort considering the bottles have to be bought from the market.

At just $14.99 per week, you get to save a lot on cost, without compromising on your health, time, or the environment.

At Bluestar, we are committed to providing a cost-effective solution for pure drinking water.

Is your water container reusable?

Identify whether your plastic bottle can be reused, and for how long before it is recycled.

  • Single-use bottles made from PET must not be reused as the plastic material they are made of turns harmful after one use.
  • HDPE: Toiletries containers and cleaning agents like detergents, shampoo bottles and Shower gels are stored in a high-density polyethylene bottle that are corrosion-resistant.
  • PVC or Polyvinyl Chloride is typically used in toys, cling wraps, medical tubing and blood bags. It is the second most widely used plastic in the world after Polyethylene. Hard to recycle, and prolonged use can be highly toxic.
  • LDPE: used for grocery bags, bread, frozen food bags, hot and cold beverage cups and some squeeze bottles like honey or mustard, is considered safe as a food-grade material, difficult to be recycled.
  • Polystyrene: Egg cartons, disposable cups and bowls, packaging food containers are mostly made of the Styrofoam we all commonly call it as. Exposure to hot and oily food could leach styrene, a toxicant for brain and nervous system.
  • Other: Any other plastic material that doesn’t fall into either of the previously mentioned categories. Polycarbonate being one which was used for baby bottles and water bottles. PC can cause health problems and has a very low recycle rate.
